Editing theme code safely

Editing theme files directly removes update support for those files. Duplicate the theme first (Online Store u2192 Themes u2192 Actions u2192 Duplicate) if you need to customize code.
  1. Duplicate the theme

    Work on the copy — keep the original untouched as a fallback.

  2. Open the code editor

    Online Store → Themes → Actions → Edit code.

  3. Make your change

    Preview before publishing the duplicate over your live theme.
