Mate Themes started with a simple decision: build for Shopify and nothing else. Not because Shopify is easy, but because splitting attention across platforms usually means being mediocre at all of them. Every project here — a theme, a custom app, a migration — comes from people who spend their working day inside Liquid, the Admin API and Online Store 2.0, not switching between five different platforms on a Tuesday.
If it is not a Shopify problem, we are probably not the right team for it — and that focus is the whole reason the themes ship fast and support replies come from someone who actually wrote the code.
A Few Things We Do Not Compromise On
- Shopify only No WordPress on the side, no page builder bolted onto Shopify. Everything here is written by people who work inside Liquid and the Admin API every day.
- No app tax Themes ship with the features a store actually needs already built in, so merchants are not paying for five subscriptions to make up for what the theme should have done.
- Code you can hand off Online Store 2.0 sections, documented, nothing held together with inline scripts only we understand. Another developer can pick up the project without a rewrite.
- A person answers Support questions go to whoever built the thing, not a ticket queue that forwards it three times before someone technical sees it.
